Is There Anything Ted Cruz Doesn’t Lie About (cont.)?

“When other campaigns attack us personally, impugn my integrity or my character, I don’t respond in kind.”  Sen. Ted Cruz (TP-Texas).

What a knee-slapper. Ted even lies about lying.  Ted doesn’t respond in kind.   Instead, he just makes stuff up, tells lies, doctors photos, spreads malicious rumors and does anything else that he thinks is expedient to advance his utter narcissism.  Because, after all, he is the smartest man in every room and the only person who can save our nation.  Indeed, he is the self-chosen one to save humanity from the evils of having a government that might actually do something to help the poor and oppressed just like Jesus (who he falsely claims to represent) said we should do.

Is There Anything Ted Cruz Doesn’t Lie About (cont.)?

Sen. Ted Cruz (TP-Texas) fired his communications director and top spokesman Rick Tyler, after Tyler promoted a video that wrongly depicted Sen. Marco Rubio (Est.-Florida) as trash-talking the Bible.

The Cruz campaign linked to a story showing a video of Rubio walking by a Cruz staffer and Cruz’s father Rafael, who were reading the Bible in a hotel lobby.  The subtitles on the video showed Rubio saying to the staffer, “Got a good book there, not many answers in it.”

Rubio communications director Alex Conant later tweeted out the same video with what he says are the correct subtitles.  Speaking of the Bible, Rubio says, “All the answers are in there.”

If there is a single person out there who doesn’t think this kind of campaign trickery begins and ends with the Junior Senator himself, then Red has some interesting investment options for you.   Tyler is a fall guy that had to go when this kind of abject dirty trick was exposed.

Cruz the Big Loser in South Carolina

Jonathan Tobin of Commentary explains why Sen. Ted Cruz (TP-Texas) and not Jeb!!!!$$$$? was the biggest loser coming out of South Carolina.

[T]he most decisive result in South Carolina was the blow dealt to Cruz’s campaign.

With its huge evangelical vote and a large number of veterans and conservatives of all stripes, South Carolina seemed to be a place that Cruz ought to win in much the same manner as his Iowa triumph. His ground game was the best of the candidates, and Trump’s abandonment of conservative positions on a host of issues should have convinced religious conservatives to resist the temptation to vote for the reality star. But it didn’t. Trump beat Cruz among evangelicals and every other conservative demographic.

This is a staggering blow to Cruz’s belief that he can win conservative states, like those in the south that will vote in the SEC super primary on March 1st. If Cruz can’t beat Rubio, let alone get anywhere close to Trump in South Carolina, how can he possibly do it elsewhere in the south? Perhaps, Cruz is counting on winning his home state of Texas, but even that is not a certainty.

Cruz’s assumption was that once other candidates that appealed to social conservatives like Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum dropped out, he could count on a united evangelical vote. But what Trump showed us in South Carolina is that there is no such thing as a united bloc of religious conservatives. Or even of Tea Party voters that should, in theory, also be flocking to Cruz. What’s killing Cruz is that a lot of people who ought not to be voting for someone with Trump’s record are doing so. Cruz is right that he is the principled conservative that represents the beliefs of these voters. But they are still voting for Trump.

South Carolina did give us one firm conclusion about the GOP race. By losing his base voters to Trump, Cruz seems to have no path to the nomination. That makes him, and not Bush, the big loser in South Carolina.

Jeb!!!!$$$$? Pulls Out

Jeb!!!!$$$$? suspended his presidential campaign after a lackluster 4th place finish in South Carolina on Saturday.  Red is relieved because another Bush presidency might have just driven him over the edge.   With that in mind, here are the best comments overheard yet about Jeb!!!!$$$$?’s withdrawal.

“What, he was still running?”

“Looks like his mom was right.”

“He certainly was . . . a tall candidate.”

“Damn, now we won’t get to invade another country that doesn’t pose a direct threat to the U.S.”

” And there goes the only man who could make his big brother look smart.”

“I was looking forward to seeing him get 7% of the vote in Texas and show the nation we aren’t quite as dumb as we seem.”

“What’s George P. up to – besides hating his job?”

“Giving new meaning to “Bush League.”

“His college roommate said he was the dumbest man he had ever met.  Guess he didn’t know Marco Rubio.”

“$2800 per vote just doesn’t go as far as you might think.”

“What, he was still running?”

Ted Cruz Pulls Ad Featuring Porn Actress

The latest in a series of increasingly lame ads for Sen. Ted Cruz (TP-Texas) has turned out to feature an actress that appeared in soft porn movies including Carnal Wishes, Milf, Deviant Whores, Confessions of a Lap Dancer and Insatiable Desire.   Cruz’s campaign confirmed late Thursday that it had pulled a commercial slamming Florida Sen. Marco Rubio over illegal immigration after discovering that Amy Lindsay had previously appeared in pornographic films.   For her part, Lindsay, who grew up in Houston and graduated from UT-Austin with a degree in Journalism, describes herself as a Christian conservative and a Republican and tweeted her disappointment with Cruz pulling the ad.

Damn, Red finally had an excuse to watch a Ted Cruz ad.

Is There Anything Ted Cruz Doesn’t Lie About (cont.)?

Sen. Ted Cruz (TP-Texas) tried to trick potential Ben Carson caucus goers into supporting him on Monday night by falsely claiming that Carson was dropping out of the race.  After it was reported that Carson was going home to Florida on Monday night, Cruz and his campaign quickly tried to create the impression that Carson was ending his campaign.

Just as the caucuses were beginning to meet at 7 p.m., the official Ted Cruz mobile app sent a message to some Iowans.

“CNN is reporting that Ben Carson will stop campaigning after Iowa.  Make sure to tell all of your peers at the caucus supporting Carson that they should coalesce around the true conservative who will be in the race for the long haul: TED CRUZ!”

Carson denied that he was quitting, but at least some damage may have already been done.   Numerous caucus attendees have reported that Cruz supporters attempted  to sway Carson voters by announcing that Carson would be dropping out of the race.

For his part, Carson has described Cruz’s tactics as “dirty tricks” and has called on Cruz to fire anyone involved in the “shenanigans.”  That seems unlikely as Ted is probably unwilling to fire himself.  “If Ted Cruz doesn’t know about this, then he clearly needs to very quickly get rid of some people in his organization,” Carson said. “And if he does know about it, isn’t this the exact kind of thing the American people are tired of?”

Ted Cruz Bullies Way to Victory in Iowa

Red knows that Sen. Ted Cruz (TP-Texas) won the Iowa Caucuses last night edging out billionaire Donald Trump by about 4%.  Cruz is riding a wave of support from the evangelical base of the GOP.  His entire campaign seems to be aimed at convincing everyone that he is among the most religious men on the planet and that only Ted can save our country – indeed perhaps humanity –  from the evils of  . . .  well, anyone but Ted.  This son of an immigrant come to save our country from immigrants.  This smartest man in every room come to tell us exactly how smart he is.

Somehow Red just can’t get his head around the fact that 28% of people anywhere think that Cruz would be a good choice to lead their neighborhood property owners association much less this country.    What is it that these voters like about Ted?  His plan to raise their taxes while providing huge tax cuts for the wealthiest?  His bellicose foreign policy plans that call for what would likely be an unending war in the Middle East – not that we don’t already have that thanks to the Bush family?  His winning personality that has resulted in not a single one of his fellow Senators endorsing him?  His blatant narcissism?  His persistent lies on  many topics?  His frying bacon with an automatic weapon?  His misleading and near fraudulent mailings to voters? His failure to follow simple campaign disclosure laws? His plans to lead the GOP over a cliff?

Please tell Red, he wants to know.

You know who one of those millions of Americans who’s lost their health care because of Obamacare? That would be me. I don’t have health care right now. I had purchased an individual policy and Blue Cross Blue Shield canceled all their individual policies in the state of Texas effective December 31st. So our health care got canceled.”     Sen. Ted Cruz (TP-Texas).

A very moving story, that is if it wasn’t completely fabricated. The whole tale smelled from the beginning.  You don’t lose your health care with a single letter.  Moreover, if true, then Cruz is a moron for not securing another plan from the many choices.  More importantly, it was pure bullshit as a part of Cruz’s agenda to destroy the American healthcare system.   The Cruz campaign had to quickly fess up and throw Ted’s insurance broker under the bus.  Cruz was automatically enrolled in another plan by his provider.  Since the Affordable Care Act is actually working, Cruz has to lie and make up stuff to paint a picture of failure.

Quote for the Day

“Mr. Cruz needs to study old Ronald Reagan clips to understand the difference between having strong beliefs and being an insufferable jerk about them.”

Bret Stephens from What Ted Cruz Values in the WSJ.  A must read.

Perry Endorses Cruz – Big Whoop

FoxNews is reporting that twice-failed GOP presidential candidate and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry has endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz (TP-Texas).  “I am convinced without a doubt that on day one, this very committed conservative American will be ready to be commander-in-chief,” Perry told Fox News.

And exactly what is that belief based on?  Ted’s vast military experience?  Ted’s abuse of an automatic weapon to fry bacon? Ted’s desire to see glowing sand in Syria?  His bloviation and bluster?   Please tell us, oh great failed candidate.
