Ken Paxton – Vexatious Litigant (cont.)

Texas Attorney General and Tea Party favorite Ken Paxton has failed in another frivolous lawsuit.  Paxton sued the federal government seeking to prevent the resettlement of Syrian refugees in Texas.  Yes, that’s what it has come down to for the Tea Party fanatics – let’s keep refugees out of our state because . . . well, just because.

Paxton’s suit claimed the Obama administration had not adequately consulted with states before placing refugees in Texas.   Not surprisingly, U.S. District Judge David Godbey ruled that the state has no role in the resettlement of refugees handled by the federal government which has authority over immigration policy. And in a dope slap to Paxton, Godbey also found the state had failed to present plausible evidence that Syrian refugees pose an imminent risk.   Paxton apparently forgot about something called the Supremacy Clause and another detail of the Constitution which vests authority over foreign affairs largely in the hands of the Executive.  But the Constitution is only important when it supposedly supports Paxton’s Tea Party agenda.

For his part, Paxton said that he was “disappointed with the court’s determination that Texas cannot hold the federal government accountable to consult with us before resettling refugees here.” He said he is considering options to “guarantee the safety of Texans from domestic and foreign threats.”  Yes, Ken will protect us from the predatory families that are being resettled in Texas. Good luck with that Ken.

Ken Paxton – Vexatious Litigant (cont.)

Embattled Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton just can’t help himself from continuing to waste taxpayer dollars on important issues like who gets to pee where.  One might think that Paxton was merely trying to draw attention away from his own considerable legal woes – but then one would be a small petty-minded type of person – like Red.

But the chances that Paxton would shy away from the most important legal and moral issue of the day, involving – as Red so crudely puts it – which hole gets to go in which hole, were slim to none.  Apparently there is not a single action of the federal government that Paxton does not feel up to challenge – at least until another Bush becomes President.  Paxton reflexively must challenge anything that might possible offend or cause the slightest consternation amongst his Tea Party followers – all the while maintaining his innocence in the face of what the legal experts refer to as “pretty damn good evidence” that he himself is the real lawbreaker.   Thus despite the lack of a shred of evidence that allowing the various varieties of our transgendered Texans to decide where they would like to evacuate their various by-products of human existence has endangered anyone or caused any of the Baptist women to cry “Oh, my!”, Paxton bravely soldiers on in the belief that only he knows best and that the very fate of the constitutional republic hangs in the balance on his briefs (no pun intended).

Red for one expresses no opinion (as yet) on the constitutionality of the Obama administration’s rule on bathroom equality.  What is clear, however, is that Paxton and ilk truly believe that this is the issue that will re-ignite the Tea Party movement (not just their bowels) and lead them back to national prominence in the wake of seeing their influence eviscerated by Donald Trump’s emergence (from the anus of the political sphere).  The right must have a bogeyman – real or imagined – and fear is the only thing they know how to properly manipulate into a position of power.  If not the Red Menace washing upon our shores, or the Hippies destroying our social fabric, or the Welfare Queens taking us to the cleaners, or Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll corrupting our youth anymore, then there must be a new cause.  And with the so-called War on Terror falling out of fashion after a sort, what can the denizens of the right latch onto now.  Aha, bathroom safety.  The terrifying image of a grizzled child molester tarted up in a chemise and sporting some f*#k me pumps coming in to the Women’s room to terrorize Ted Cruz’s daughters will certainly get the base riled up.  Except maybe enough Americans are not quite stupid enough to believe such nonsense.  And no one will ever accuse Ken Paxton of not being stupid enough.

Sid Miller, Liar or Merely Easily Duped Moron?

Texas Agriculture Commissioner and Tea Party darling Sid Miller posted a photo on his Facebook page of President Barack Obama smiling, holding up a blue T-shirt with the face of Che Guevara.  Miller claimed that Obama was holding the shirt during his trip to Cuba this week.  The indignant Miller wrote:

President Obama refuses to return to the United States in order to meet with European leaders to discuss a response to today’s terror attacks in Brussels–attacks that severely injured a number of Americans. Instead, he remains in Cuba holding a shirt depicting the image of Che Guevara–one of the most reviled terrorists of the modern age–a murdering thug who was responsible for thousands of innocent deaths. President Obama is laughing at us. He understands the symbolism of this picture and yet he doesn’t care. I believe his actions are disgraceful. Do you agree?

Apparently, Miller is easily duped as the photo is from Obama’s 2009 visit to an MIT research lab and the image of Guevara was photo-shopped in.   Sid might have figured out that this shot probably wasn’t from the Cuba trip by looking at the English language sign in the background.  But that would have required some actual thought.

Sid needs to stop posting stupid crap on Facebook and consider doing the job he was elected to do.

Is There Anything Ted Cruz Doesn’t Lie About (cont.)?

Sen. Ted Cruz (TP-Texas) of course had to weigh in on President Obama’s trip to one of Cruz’s ancestral homelands.  According to Cruz,  “It is so sad, and so injurious to our future as well as Cuba’s, that Obama has chosen to legitimize the corrupt and oppressive Castro regime with his presence on the island.”

But what did the Junior Senator have to say when his former boss, good buddy and Poor Idiot Governor Greg Abbott visited Cuba a few months ago?  Righteous indignation at pandering to dictators?  Hardly.  Even though the two trips shared almost identical mission statements, there was radio silence from Cruz.  So when Tea Party Republicans visit Cuba to promote trade and business that’s absolutely great.  But when the President does the same thing, well we all knew he was a Commie at heart anyway.

Quote for the Day

“Obama has a soft spot for homosexuals because of the years he spent as a male prostitute in his twenties. That is how he paid for his drugs…Since he supports gay marriage, he should be proud of his background as a homosexual/bisexual. He is against everything else Christians stand for, he might as well be for infidelity.”

Mary Lou Bruner, Republican Candidate for the Texas State Board of Education.

Bruner exemplifies what has become of what was a respectable political institution – one that is now an almost complete farce.  Bruner won 48% of the vote in the GOP primary and will likely win the runoff with support from Tea Partisans who actually believe such nonsense.  And since she will have an “R” by her name, she will win in November and then will be part of the Board that approves your children’s textbooks.  If that doesn’t frighten you, nothing will.  But if you really like being frightened, read the Washington Post article on MLB. To quote Count Floyd, “It’s really, really scary kids.”

Republicans Face Dilemma on Supreme Court Vacancy

Harold Cook at Letters from Texas does an excellent job of explaining the dilemma the GOP-controlled Senate faces in attempting to obstruct Pres. Obama from filling the vacancy resulting from Justice Scalia’s death.  In Red’s view to the extent that they are counting on Donald Trump winning the Presidency and nominating the next Scalia, they are playing a losing hand.

Is There Anything Ted Cruz Doesn’t Lie About (cont.)?

The Sen. Ted Cruz (TP-Texas) sponsored website TheRealRubioRecord.com has posted a photo of Sen. Marco Rubio (?-Florida) – GASP! – actually shaking hands with the President of the United States.  This treasonous act of actually extending your hand to the duly elected leader of our country would clearly disqualify Sr. Rubio from himself being President.   For his part, Cruz claims to have never shaken hands with any Democrat – preferring instead to do the “old tie trick” where he points to a spot on your tie and then flicks your chin.  What a card!

But the revelation of this scandalous photo of a sitting Senator displaying common courtesy (something not likely to be a problem in a Cruz administration), has instead again raised questions about the tactics of Cruz’s campaign.  Why? Because it is an obviously altered photo.  As a matter of first impression, Red would note – who shakes with their left hand?  We know the Kenyan, Muslim, Socialist, Terrorism-Sympathizing President is, of course, left-handed.  But even Steve Carlton shook with his right hand – that is, when he wasn’t throwing a high hard one at your head.  Second, the Rubio campaign has clearly shown that the photo is a poorly executed “Photoshop” job.

Todd Harris, a Rubio mouthpiece, insisted, “This is not Marco Rubio. This person, we don’t know who that is, but they Photoshopped Marco’s face onto somebody else. This is how phony and how deceitful the Cruz campaign has become. Marco Rubio doesn’t own that tie, he doesn’t own that watch, he doesn’t own that suit . . . There is so little honesty left in the Cruz campaign that they’re actually willing to Photoshop a fellow Republican’s face onto the body of some other person to completely invent an attack on Marco Rubio.”

Rubio’s campaign backed up its claim by showing the stock photo used by Cruz.

But all this sniping may actually backfire on Rubio, Red knows that true red-blooded, patriotic, evangelical Christian voters in South Carolina would never truck with anyone foolish enough to not take a knee shot at Obama’s nads when close enough to actually shake hands with the devil incarnate.

Jade Helm 15 Update, Cont.

Red has plumb lost track of how many days we are now into the massive Jade Helm 15 conspiracy in which the jack-booted thugs of the federal government are coming to Texas to take away our women, children and most importantly guns.  As far as Red can see, the Feds have yet to take away a single one of the aforementioned WCAMIG’s.  But this is how the war is won.  First, you get your opponent all riled up and in such a froth that they can’t hardly think straight.  Check.  Second, you give a plausible explanation for your actions that soothes the weak-minded.  Check.  Third, you roll out the troops in the most non-confrontational manner possible.  Check.  Fourth, you lull the rest of the populace to sleep by seemingly doing nothing to take away their WCAMIG’s.  Check.  Fifth, you keep doing that. Check.  Sixth, you swoop in and lickety-split grab the WCAMIG’s while the vigilant ones have fallen asleep on the couch during a baseball game after 6 beers and 2 plates of nachos.

Don’t let it happen to you!

Vigilantly yours,

Red

Jade Helm 15 Update, Cont.

Well Red was down in Old Mexico (as Red, Sr. used to call it) this week.  Flying in a  Bombadier (why on God’s green earth are US airlines flying French planes much less one with the word “Bomb” in it is beyond Red), Red was unable to discern any notable change in regions of South Texas (one of the last bastions of the Lone Star Democrats) from 30,000 feet.  So apparently not only are the jack-booted thugs of the Feds reasonably sneaky, they are good at camouflage (a word Red always thought sounded suspiciously French) as well.   And while in Mexico, Red failed to see any hordes of illegal (or soon to be illegal) immigrants rushing to the Rio Grande.  In fact, everyone looked pretty damn occupied going about their business – which of course only made Red more suspicious.  But the illegals (thinking back to Red, Sr. again, Red wonders exactly what he would now call them since other terms have disappeared from the common parlance) are probably getting some training from the aforementioned JBT’s who may be using them to divert our attention away from the bigger issues of Obama coming in to round up our women, children and most importantly guns under the guise of a “Training Exercise.”  Anyhow, Red will stay closer to home this weekend and keep his ear to the ground while reaching for the stars (thank you Casey Kasem).

Vigilantly yours,

Red

Jade Helm 15 Update, Cont.

As we enter the 12th day of Jade Helm 15 it has been a deadly dozen days.  Deadly quiet that is. But that aint fooling us Texans.  And it must be noted that Pres. Obama has been in the ancestral homeland and unable to personally direct the round up of our women, children and most importantly guns.

Meanwhile, the Daily Texan reports  that a June 25 poll conducted by the Texas Politics Project from UT and The Texas Tribune revealed that nearly 44 percent of Texans believed the federal government would likely send troops to impose martial law, and 43 percent believed the federal government would likely confiscate their firearms. Red believes that 43.5% of Texans can’t be wrong about anything. If you’re over 50% then things are different – witness repeatedly electing Rick Perry as governor – but in the 40’s you are on solid ground.  So despite all visible signs that there is absolutely nothing going on, it is just a matter of time before the jack-booted storm troopers descend like a swarm of angry wasps thinking they’re gonna open a fresh can of ass whip on your town.  So stay alert and report back to Red.

Vigilantly yours,

Red
